Аnother 9 months have passed, in which we have done a lot of work with selling, consulting and helping our growing customers to release their TV Channel projects. Working with our customers, we constantly use their real–world requests to improve our products and increase our competency in all TV Channels areas. This time we updated our core SDK, added DVB Subtitles to our solutions that are working in a very efficient way – we chose to build DVB Subtitles in advance to video files and we made a tool to do this process. This approach is a way better than using a separate DVB subtitle server, because of the cost of such a subtitle server, and because it reduces the reliability as it is a critical potential failure point.

We did a new, deeply investigation into what is required to code better complex nature videos into DVB UDP H264, also we provided an option for better scaling of SD and HD files to specified output resolutions. Many customers play a mix of SD and HD videos, so this indeed is an improvement with significant impact.

A – and we have our next customer using our SRT transfer method for the most critical task – transfer his TV signal 24/7 to the final distributor. We did that in full 1:1 redundancy,  working on 2 remote locations (100 km distance) without using a dedicated (and expensive) fiber connection, but using a standard 100 Mb common Internet, so we got a lot of experience in VPN networks too!
